VETERINARY FEES |
HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM |
||||
Veterinary Fees are a growing concern because of the sheer costs of modern technology and expertise. The principles of insurance mean that everyone contributes a small amount into the premium pool in order that a few can make claims. Unfortunately, these days the amounts collected in premiums rarely cover the amounts settled in veterinary claims, and it is an area under continual review between Insurers and Vets. Everyone wants to see the best care and treatment being given by the vets to their horses and donkeys, and having veterinary fee insurance does guarantee that this is available for your horse or donkey. Please contact us for more details.

To make a claim under this section once you have advised us of your horse¹s problem (which you must do as soon as possible), we will send you the necessary claim forms. One is for you to complete and there will be another one for your attending vet to complete as well. Obviously we need copies of all the invoices incurred. If you horseor donkey has to be referred to the Veterinary Hospital, please advise us. We will want a copy of their report and itemised bills as well. Certain expensive diagnostic work such as MRI and Bone scans requires authorisation in advance in order to guarantee that these will be paid for. This authorisation is given upon submission and acceptance of a vet¹s report detailing why it is deemed necessary for the scan to be performed. |
